A person stole the cross that was inside St. Mary Mother of Jesus Church, 2326 84th St., Aug. 8.
Cops said the cross, worth $250, was reported missing from the church’s tabernacle at 12 p.m.
“It’s the most important part of our church,” a volunteer at the Catholic school next door told News 12. “It’s very upsetting someone would take something from it.”
No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
