The new Panda Express in Bay Ridge.

There’s a new fast food restaurant in town and it’s already digging in its heels.

Panda Express, which opened at 416 86th Street earlier this year and celebrated an official grand opening on Friday, February 2, is donating a portion of its opening day profits to P.S./I.S. 104, an elementary-immediate school less than a mile from the new quick-Asian eatery.

“We look forward to introducing our delicious American Chinese comfort food to even more guests in the area,” Yingying Chen, area coach of operations for Panda Express, said in a statement. “As we continue to expand our footprint on the East Coast, our associates feel honored to bring our community-centric culture and signature service to Brooklyn.”

The chain, originated in California in 1983, encourages fundraising through its business year-round, urging interested applicants to raise money for their school, organization, club, team or non-profit organization by dining at Panda Express.

The new business is also reportedly planning on providing jobs to at least 20 Brooklynites.

For more information on the chain, or its fundraising efforts, visit www.pandaexpress.com.

Correction: An earlier version of this article incorrectly referred to the school as P.S./I.S. 204. It is P.S./I.S. 104.
