Crook cons Ridge business owner by pretending to be Con Ed employee

An unknown perp tricked the owner of a business at 93rd Street and Fourth Avenue out of around $1,500 on Saturday, August 12.

According to reports, at around 4:30 p.m., the crook called the victim pretending to be a Con Edison employee and demanded payment of $1,500, threatening that, otherwise, service would be disconnected. The victim paid the perp via a Money Pak gift card.

No arrests have been made.
