Foodie-favorite “Artichoke” pizza opens in Brooklyn

Foodies, rejoice!

New York pizza chain Artichoke Basille’s – a late-night favorite amongst Manhattan, Astoria and even West Coast foodies – has entered the borough.

According to New York Eater, the cult pizzeria began serving hungry eaters on Wednesday, August 19 from its new North Park Slope shop, located at 59 Fifth Avenue.

Just a hop, skip and a jump from the Barclays Center, Artichoke Basille’s – often referred to as simply, “Artichoke” – will serve up the classics as well as a forthcoming pie exclusive to the borough, so says Francis Garcia, who opened the first-ever Artichoke Basille’s in 2008 with cousin and best friend, Sal Basille in the East Village.

This is the sixth shop for the family business, not counting its outpost in LaGuardia Airport – three in Manhattan, one in Astoria and one all the way on the West Coast, in Berkeley, California.
