Man arrested for alleged attempted rape in Bensonhurst

A man cops say attempted to rape a woman in Bensonhurst has been arrested.

The NYPD reports that 20-year-old Sunset Park resident Christopher Clemente was apprehended on Monday, May 22 at around 9:30 p.m. He was charged with attempted rape, forcible touching and sexual abuse.

According to police, on Friday, May 5 at around 4:10 a.m., Clemente allegedly approached a 39-year-old woman while on the southbound N-train, talked to her and groped her breasts. After the woman left the Bay Parkway Station to try to get away from him, he allegedly followed her to Bay Parkway and 64th Street, put his arms around her and tried to drag her.

After the woman struggled, she fell to the ground. Her assailant then allegedly climbed on top of her, pinned her arms and tried to rape her. After she yelled for help, police say he got up and fled southbound on Bay Parkway.
