Firefighters removing the man from the tracks.

Sunset Park’s Eighth Avenue subway station was the scene of rescue operation on the night of Thursday, August 17, after a man jumped onto the tracks in front of an N train.

The man was trapped underneath the N train as firefighters worked to free him. According to FDNY officials, he was lifted off the tracks and taken out of the station (located on Eighth Avenue between 61st and 62nd Streets) in a stretcher at around 7 p.m.

The man was transported to Maimonides Medical Center in stable condition.
