A 24-year-old man was attacked by an unknown perp at 72nd Street and Third Avenue on Saturday, July 15. Reports say that around 4 a.m., the man was helping someone who was described as being in a confrontation with other individuals when he was hit several times from behind with a metal object by the perp.
The victim left the scene and went home without calling the police. He then walked into NYU Lutheran Medical Center at around 9:30 a.m. with his mother.
The man sustained lumps to his forehead and the side of his head, and bruised arms and back, and received five stitches on his upper lip.
No arrests have been made.
