A woman in her 60s is in critical condition after being struck by a car near the corner of 13th Avenue and Bay Ridge Parkway early this morning.

According to police, the incident occurred in front of 1353 Bay Ridge Parkway at about 5:03 a.m. Authorities claim that, at the time of the accident, a 58-year-old male was traveling eastbound on the roadway in a 2013 Toyota with a steady green light when he struck the woman as she was attempting to cross from north to south mid-block.

The woman was discovered by responding authorities unconscious and unresponsive with severe trauma to her body, laying on the roadway. She was transported to Maimonides Medical Center where she is said to be listed in critical condition.

The incident is still under investigation. No arrests have been made.
