One Stop for a Fair Shot

Being informed is always to a consumer’s benefit. But when itcomes to buying a car, the right information can be hard to comeby.

Idolo Rullo wants to change that.

Last year, after 27 years of working in automotive retail, Rullostarted One Stop Auto Consultants, with the goal of shieldingcustomers from some of the unfair sales practices he has observedfirst-hand.

I’d like to see my business be a protector of the consumer, Rullosaid. We’re not looking to put dealers out of business, just tokeep it fair.

For a fee of $395, Rullo will make sure car buyers get a squaredeal, by negotiating their purchase for them. If they have alreadybeen to a dealership and gotten an offer, One Stop Auto Consultantsguarantees them a lower price.

Rullo will accompany car buyers to the purchase if they prefer, orhe can handle the transaction himself. In some cases, he is evenable to have the car delivered to the customer’s home.

One Stop’s founder understands the ways that dealerships attempt tomaximize profits, because he has observed many of themfirsthand.

There are too many issues with the way dealers operate theirbusiness now, Rullo said.

One area of car dealerships where he feels that the customer needshelp is the financing department. Rullo himself worked in thatdepartment for almost 20 years.

You can get the best price, but what happens when you get to thefinancing office? he asked.

Rullo uses his financing expertise to work to eliminate many of theadditional fees some dealerships tack on at the end of a purchase.It is just another way that he hopes to make purchasing a vehiclefun.

Nobody has to spend two to three hours in a dealership and have anunpleasant experience, he said. Everyone should be happy whenbuying a car.
