Brooklyn’s Seaside Summer Concert Series In Full Swing

Brooklyn kicked off the summer with its 32nd annual SeasideSummer Concert Series Thursday July 15, featuring artist Joan Jettand the Blackhearts and supporting act, Girl in a Coma.

A crowd of 8,000 to 9,000 gathered for the event at a new venue,the former site of the Ringling Brothers Circus on West 21st Streetin Coney Island.

I am proud to host the two largest free outdoor concert series inthe New York area, and of course, this year’s performers-which alsoinclude Queen Latifah, Cheap Trick, the Monkees, Jeffrey Osborne,Peabo Bryson, Freddie Jackson, Shaggy and Maze featuring FrankieBeverly-have toured around the world but are really hitting the bigtime-and the big stage-in Brooklyn, USA! said Borough PresidentMarty Markowitz.

The Seaside series will run Thursdays until August 18. The MartinLuther King Concert series is also held on Monday nights untilAugust 22nd, held at Wingate Field on Brooklyn Avenue.
