On June 14, Calvary Hospital honored the late Bay Ridgecommunity activist Rosemarie O’Keefe with the dedication of anoasis for patients at Calvary’s Brooklyn hospice at LutheranMedical Center in Sunset Park.
The Rosemarie O’Keefe Memorial Garden and Patio honors the life ofthe former community leader who once served Mayor Rudolph Giulianias commissioner of the Community Assistant Unit, which assistedfamilies of victims following the 9-11 attacks.Rosemarie was a dedicated and tireless public servant who servedthe citizens of New York for many years, said Florence Diaz, along-time friend of O’Keefe’s, who helped raise money to renovatethe garden in O’Keefe’s memory.O’Keefe died of cancer in 2009.Calvary Hospital honors former activist
