Community reflects on the loss of Leiby

It’s been about two weeks since Leiby Kletzky was murdered andBrooklyn residents continue to mourn his death.

More than a hundred Brooklynites of many creeds and racesgathered in Albemarle Playground behind P.S. 230 in Kensington onJune 24, all holding candles to represent the impact the eightyear-old had on their lives.

Kids wrote their goodbyes, and drew on a long, white strip ofpaper during the somber ceremony to convey their sentiments.

With all the support from Brooklynites as well as people aroundthe world, the Kletzky family is aiming to make sure his death wasnot in vain by helping suffering young children through the newlydeveloped Leiby Kletzky Memorial Fund.

Over $215,000 was donated to the fund so far to reach thefamilies’ goal to raise 1 million dollars. To make a donation tothe Leiby Kletzky Memorial Fund, log ontohttp://www.give2gether.com/projects/help-support-leiby-kletzky/
