Mets players pay a visit to Maimonides

How about those Mets? On August 30, players Ronny Paulino andMike Nickeas were joined by their team mascot, Mr. Met, for a visitto the Maimonides Infants and Children’s Hospital. For the youngbaseball fans at the facility, it was a home run.

A visit from the Mets is a very welcome distraction for ouryoung patients because it allows them to simply be kids, and enjoymeeting and talking with their baseball heroes, said DanielleLaraque, vice president of the Maimonides Infants and Children’sHospital. We’re grateful to the New York Mets for making thisspecial occasion possible.

The players, both of whom are catchers for the team, handed outbaseball caps, signed autographs and had bedside visits with thechildren.
