Schneps said the publication will be raffling off giftcertificates to local restaurants such as Cebu and Gold CoastDelicatessen and movie tickets to the Alpine Theater, in additionto offering free gift bags and face painting.

According to Home Reporter sales associate Lori Pedone,the day also gives the newspaper a chance to reach out to localmerchants.
It’s an opportunity for The Home Reporter to work withlocal businesses in support of what they do for the community ofBay Ridge, Pedone said.
Home Reporter Sales Manager James Griffin, whose fatherfounded the paper in 1956, claims the festival guide thepublication has offered each year has played a vital role in thehistory of the event.
We’ve kept a record of [the festival] as the years have gone byand have always followed up the next week with a big edition withphotos. Griffin said.
He points out that the paper has been a supporter of the ThirdAvenue Festival from the beginning.
We’ve been on this corner for 40 years, Griffin said. We’vebeen observing it since its start.
