Four prominent Italian-Americans were in the spotlight atBorough Hall on Wednesday, October 5, as Borough President MartyMarkowitz hosted a celebration in honor of Italian AmericanHeritage Month.
The honorees for 2011 were Sal Calabrese, the president of RE/MAXMetro ; Thomas J. Fariello, first deputy commissioner, New YorkCity Department of Buildings; Rosanne Raso, senior vice president,Lutheran Medical Center; and the Honorable Frank R. Seddio, formerassemblymember and former judge, Surrogate’s Court of KingsCounty.Carlo Scissura, Markowitz’s senior advisor, served as master ofceremonies. Greetings were offered by Natalia Quintavalle, consulgeneral of Italy in New York. Entertainment was provided by AngeloVenuto and the Venuto Brothers; Italian actor and singer SalDaVinci; and the Figli Maria S.S.
