Twinkling trees adorn Dyker church, Our Lady of Guadalupe

As the holiday season approaches, Brooklyn grows brighter.

Parishioners from Our Lady of Guadalupe braved the frigidtemperature on Saturday evening to take part in the church’s annualtree lighting ceremony.

The crowd gathered in the church courtyard, anxiously awaitingthe illumination of the trees and angels that blanket the churchgrounds. To keep the group entertained, Our Lady of GuadalupeParish Children’s Choir sang a medley of holiday songs.

After Monsignor Robert Romano blessed the decorations, thelights were switched on, bathing the church yard in a soft whitelight. When the parishioners were done admiring the trees andangels, they attended a small reception held in Our Lady ofGuadalupe’s school auditorium.
