McKinley library closed for upgrades

The McKinley Park Library is getting a well-deserved makeover.

The branch, located at 6802 Fort Hamilton Parkway, will be closed from April 15 to May 21 for renovations, including new self-check machines, new customer service and information desks, and a new book return system which makes processing more efficient, according to Councilmember Vincent Gentile, who is chairperson of the select committee on libraries, and Linda Johnson, president of Brooklyn Public Library.

“I am proud to announce these improvements and I commend Linda Johnson’s leadership,” Gentile stated. “This will continue the system-wide implementation of the Brooklyn Public Library’s new model for public service and making our libraries more self-sufficient and accessible.”

While the branch is under repair, patrons can visit these nearby branches: Bay Ridge, at 7223 Ridge Boulevard; Dyker, at 8202 13th Avenue; Fort Hamilton, at 9424 Fourth Avenue and Sunset Park, 5108 Fourth Avenue.
