Students from St. Saviour Catholic School, at 611 Eighth Avenue in Park Slope, raised $1,000 to support programs and services at Calvary Hospital, which provides palliative care to adult advanced cancer patients.
The students hosted a one-day “CAPS ON” fundraiser during Catholic Schools Week, during which students at the uniform-only Catholic academy donated $2 each for the privilege of wearing a cap of their choice to school.
The St. Saviour students are among hundreds of city youth who donated to the hospital, which has locations in the Bronx and Brooklyn.
