Bath Beach store owner fatally shot with the same gun that killed Mohamed Gebeli

A Bath Beach store owner was murdered in his shop, Amazing 99 cents and Up Deals, located at 1877 86th Street on the evening of Thursday, August 2 around 8:45 p.m.

Isaac Kadare, 59, suffered a “gunshot wound to the head and sharp force entries to his neck” according to a spokesperson for the Medical Examiner’s office. It has been ruled a homicide. Kadare, who lived on Quentin Road, left behind a wife and four children.

Police say that the same .22 caliber gun was used to kill Bay Ridge shop owner Mohamed Gebeli, 65 on July 6 in his business, Valentino’s Fashions on at 7718 Fifth Avenue.

The Police Department is offering a $10,000 reward for any information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of the suspect. Crime Stoppers is also offering $2,000.

The 68th and 62nd Precinct have increased patrols in the area and are asking merchants to display the sketch of the suspect in their windows, facing towards the sidewalk for maximum visibility.

Councilmember David Greenfield and the Sephardic Community Federation have offered a $5,000 reward to any person with information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever committed the crime.

I am deeply saddened that such a horrific act took place in our community, as there is no place forthis type of violence in our society. By all accounts, Mr. Kadare was a kind, caring and devoted family man who never hesitated to help those in need, Greenfield said, We must stand together as a community and make sure the perpetrator is held accountable and taken off our streets as soon as possible.

State Senator Marty Golden is also offering a $5,000 reward. “This is a tragedy that has left the residents and business owners in the Brooklyn community I represent in shock. Mr. Kadare was a Brooklyn man, who while living the American dream, was killed at work trying to make a good life for his family, Golden said. Eighty Sixth Street in the early evening hours is a busy street and I believe someone saw something. I encourage anyone in that area last night to contact the authorities.”
