PET CONTEST WINNERS: A barking good time

Brooklynites certainly love adorable animals!

With a total of 81 contestants and 15,019 votes cast, Lola, the swimming dog, is the winner of the Cutest Pet Contest sponsored by The Home Reporter and Brooklyn Spectator, snagging a $50 gift certificate from Paws Truly (7607 Third Avenue) for her owner.

Lola received a whopping 5,211 votes, nosing ahead of Bijou, who came in at second place with 4,963 votes. The third place finisher was feline – Kattie Svendora, with 2,569 votes.

The other members of the top 10, in order were: birthday boys Max and Leo (fourth place, 650 votes); Daniel (fifth place, 307 votes); Skye (sixth place, 292 votes); Buddy (seventh place, 163 votes); Tiger (eighth place, 160 votes); black and white Fluffy (ninth place, 155 votes); and Bailey (10th place, 85 votes).

A total of 6,951 people voted in the contest.
