Participatory budgeting returns to South Brooklyn

Over a hundred residents gathered at the Carroll Gardens Library to brainstorm ways to spend $1 million in City Council funds allocated to the 39th Council District, represented by Councilmember Brad Lander. Favorite ideas included renovations to the library, P.S. 58, and the Carroll Gardens Senior Center, as well as adding pedestrian amenities at Hicks Street and new park equipment at Cobble Hill Park. If you’d like to add your voice, call Lander’s office at (718) 499-1090 or visit 456 Fifth Avenue.

Councilmember Stephen Levin is also holding meetings with his constituents to decide how to spend his district’s money. He can be reached at 718-875-5200 or 410 Atlantic Avenue.
