A kaleidoscope of bright colors emblazoned the Brooklyn sky during the New Years Eve annual fireworks spectacular in Grand Army Plaza.
The celebration was sponsored by Borough President Marty Markowitz and held in partnership with the Prospect Park Alliance. Brooklyns Rock N Soul Experience provided musical entertainment and attendees enjoyed a free cup of hot cocoa and bubbly beverages while they waited for the fireworks to start.
It went great, stated John Hill, a spokesperson for Markowitz. It was the most well-attended fireworks show [the borough president] has seen since hes been in office. Tourists from all over the world come to see it; its a really big deal.
Given the events tremendous success, Hill expressed great anticipation for next years show. We are very excited that it went so well and we look forward to next year, he added.
