Camp Brooklyn fundraiser will send 120 kids to camp this summer

Enough money was raised at the March 13 Camp Brooklyn Fundraiser Gala to send 120 low-income Brooklyn kids to camp this coming summer.

Two long-time supporters, Peter Meyer– New York market president for TD Bank–and Bruce Ratner–chairperson of Forest City Ratner Companies–were honored at the event, which was held at the 40/40 CLUB & Restaurant by American Express at Barclays Center.

“March 13th was a wonderful night filled with great food in a great space, exciting auction items and old and new friends,” a statement on their website, www.campbrooklyn.org, read.

Miss Teen USA Logan West, Honoree Bruce Ratner, and Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz.

“With the generosity of our corporate partners and caring individuals, we have been able to send thousands of deserving kids to sleep-away camp for an experience they will never forget,” noted Debra Garcia, the executive director of Camp Brooklyn.

“Those who are capable to help someone who is less fortunate, should do so and by being here this evening, placing an ad in the journal, or making a donation, you are doing just that,” she added.

Sponsors of the event included 777 Management Corp, Apple-Metro, Inc., Broadway Stages Ltd., Citibank, Forest Ratner Companies, and TD Bank.
