Borough’s bold-faced names attend Brooklyn 4 U Realty ribbon-cutting

It was a virtual who’s who of Brooklyn’s biggest names attending the grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony at Brooklyn 4 U Realty of Dyker Heights.

Among the elected officials, community leaders and clergy stopping by to wish owners Maria Castellano and Anthony Sciortino well in their new endeavor were State Sen. Marty Golden, Borough President Eric Adams, Kings County Democratic Party Chairperson Frank Seddio, Msgr. David Cassato of St. Athanasius and Msgr. Jamie Gigantiello, vicar of development for the Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn.

Castellano began her real estate career at Ben Bay Realty Co. of Bay Ridge in 2009 where she quickly became one of the company’s most successful brokers.

Sciortino has a long affiliation with Brooklyn 4 U Realty including heading up its office at 5901 Avenue N.

Gigantiello offered a blessing before the ribbon-cutting. “It’s a happy occasion to be here,” he told this paper. “I’ve known Maria and Anthony for a number of years, and I came just to wish them well. I hope that the place serves the community and also serves their needs as much as possible. It’s a great thing for the neighborhood.”

Golden cut the ceremonial ribbon in front of the new location at 7505 13th Avenue.

“This is a great opportunity for our avenue here where we have a lot of employment and new jobs,” Golden said. “I know Maria and Anthony are going to do a great job at this location and we’re very, very proud of them. Brooklyn 4 U Realty is not new to our communities but it’s new to Dyker Heights and they’re going to do a great, great job.”

Adams told this paper how vital a new neighborhood business like Brooklyn 4 U Realty is to the community. “This is so important as you look at small businesses that continue to grow,” Adams said. “Businesses with a hundred or less employees in New York State make up 97 percent of our businesses so we must do everything we can to continue to let this be an Empire State. This is the beginning of growing an empire and I am so happy for them.”

Castellano thanked her family and friends for their support and encouragement in “helping me make my dream a reality.”

She also thanked Sal Strazzullo for sponsoring the grand opening and Mario Macaluso for constructing the new office.

q“It was an honor having Marty Golden, BP Eric Adams, Msgr. Cassato and Msgr. Jamie take the time to share in our grand opening,” Castellano said.

“And to quote my partner Anthony Sciortino, ‘The best is yet to come!’”
