Shore Road Park and 79th Street was the place to be, the day before Easter, as tykes and toddlers participated in an annual ritual hunting for Easter eggs placed strategically for them to find, courtesy of State Senator Marty Golden.
The weather cooperated with balmy temperatures and a clear sky, and several thousand people showed up, with hordes of children who took advantage of the day to enjoy not just the search for the brightly colored treasures but also participate in games, enjoy rides, listen to music and generally romp.
A week earlier, Golden had held another egg hunt on the opposite side of his district, in Marine Park.
Watching thousands of children of our community come together for my annual Easter Egg Hunt is truly a highlight and shows the vitality of the great number of families that call Bay Ridge home, noted Golden. It was a great event and I can’t wait for next year’s!
