Play ball!

St. Anselm Youth Activities kicked off the baseball and softball season with its 46^th annual parade on Saturday, April 6.

After a 9 a.m. mass, at St. Anselm’s Church, Fourth Avenue and 82^nd Street, players, coaches and supporters joined together to march to Fort Hamilton High School field, where a ceremony followed the parade.

“I think the parade went very well,” noted Andi Gruber from St. Anselm Youth Activities. “Every year it seems to be a sunny bright shining day we really enjoy.

“I think that the children are so excited to have something spring-like happen like baseball,” Gruber added. “The game started right after the parade and they were all excited to get out there and play.”
