NYPD veteran in need of a bone marrow donor

He needs your help!

A 30-year Veteran of the NYPD, Navy-veteran, and Head Security at Barclay’s Center—Steve Bonano—needs a bone marrow transplant, immediately.

He suffers from a rare form of blood cancer, believed to be related to September 11 toxins, and is looking for a match to save his life.

“Steve has served our country and city in heroic fashion. He is a highly decorated member of the NYPD and worked at the World Trade Center site after 9/11,” said Jovana Rizzo, from BerlinRosen.

“He has received the Police Combat Cross, the second-highest award in the NYPD, has been awarded for excellence in police duty 45 times and has been recognized by the City Council, State Assembly and Senate.”

He is also a former Naval officer, graduate of St. Joseph’s College and, just a few years ago, completed a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard University.

The Bone Marrow Registry Drive will take place from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on May 7 and May 8 at 345 Jay Street.
