Three year-old dies at Bensonhurst day care

Police are investigating the mysterious case of Andrew Li, after the three-year-old suddenly fell ill and died at a Brooklyn day care center.

Police officers from the 62nd Precinct responded to the day care, located on 65th Street near 21st Avenue, at around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. They were informed that the unconscious and unresponsive toddler had been transported to Maimonides Hospital by EMS, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police told The Daily News that Li had no obvious signs of trauma.

Ellen Borakove, spokesperson for the office of the chief medical examiner, told this paper that the autopsy had been inconclusive, and investigation is ongoing.
