A bevy of bottles at the Liquors and Wine Outlet

With spectacular tile floors and chandeliers hanging from a wooden ceiling, Liquors and Wine Outlet not only has the best selection and cheapest prices in the borough, it’s one of the most beautiful stores for spirits around.

Manager Anna Matsakova explained that the store has been open on 86^th Street in Bath Beach for nearly 10 months, but was originally located in a smaller space across the street for 10 years. The Outlet has an extensive selection of everything from sake to Kahlua including wine, whiskey, scotch, vodka, tequila, gin and bourbon.

But don’t let the dozens upon dozens of bottles make you dizzy.

“We have people who are educated about each type of liquor, whether it be wine, vodka, scotch or whiskey, and can recommend something that is right for you,” Matsakova explained. “They will make sure that you find something that is the right taste and price for you. We take care of you the moment you walk in the door.”

Matsakova warned customers to be wary of the most popular trends.

“We can always find something cheaper, better quality and less commercial,” she explained.

Wine starts at just $2.99 a bottle, with Blackstone Merlot at $6.99 per bottle. Martini and Rossi bottles of champagne are $10.99 and Korbel Brut is $9.99 per bottle.

As a unique twist, corks from wine bottles decorate the store both inside and out.

“We are not a regular liquor store. We have chandeliers and 10,000 corks to decorate our store,” Matsakova said, adding that the employees did the décor themselves.

In addition, the Outlet offers free chilling service. There is a special machine that cools down your booze 25 times faster than a refrigerator. So if you need some chilled bubbly for a party, the device will make it “cool” in three minutes, “cold” in five minutes and “ice cold” in seven minutes. Customers are welcome to cool down their purchases while they shop.
