Man killed in R train tracks

During the evening hours of Sunday, September 1, a 34-year-old man was killed in the R train tunnel at Bay Ridge Avenue.

According to police, the man was electrocuted when he somehow touched the third rail and was likely already dead when he was struck by a downtown-Brooklyn-bound R train.

Train service was delayed in the wake of the incident.

The incident is still under investigation.
