St. Anselm’s 2013 grads snagged $708,000-plus in scholarships

Twenty-six scholarships – with a value of nearly three quarters of a million dollars were awarded to graduates of St Anselm’s Catholic Academy in 2013.

In all, 14 students earned over $708,000 as part of 26 individual scholarships to New York City Catholic high schools, impressively including four to Regis High School.

In addition, there were four students accepted to three specialized high schools: Stuyvesant, Staten Island Tech and Brooklyn Tech.

The scholarship recipients are Matthew Cappabianca, Michael Cosgrove, Henry Detesky, Russell Wong, Marc Ishak, Caroline Adams, Emily Ferino, Isabelle Olesiuk, Nicolas Montoya, Robert Raymond, David Carrington, William Cochrane and Michael Zamora.

The students scoring specialized high school admissions were Stanley Chu, Michael Cosgrove, Marc Ishak and Russell Wong.

James McKeon, St. Anselm’s Catholic Academy’s new principal noted, “Having been a principal for years in the city’s Department of Education, I find the amount of scholarships to be extraordinarily impressive. I look forward to continuing on this success and the growth of the school in this and future years. Congratulations to last year’s graduating class and best wishes for your continued success.”
