The Neighborhood Cats TNR Workshop — Caretaker trainings in New York City: TRAP NEUTER RELEASE… learn how to care for the feral and stray cats in your community, making use of the many helpful resources available.

Steps in setting up a managed colony are covered, including creating good community relations, feeding, winter shelter, organizing veterinary care, locating recovery space, safely handling feral cats and trapping. All workshop attendees become TNR certified. Access to low cost spay/neuter (currently $5 per cat at the ASPCA’s clinic), is offered. Plus free traps and equipment, expert guidance and assistance are offered.

MAMA, the feral cat coupon program sponsored by MUFFIN’S and the MAYOR’S ALLIANCE, is available. Currently, there are 18 participating veterinarians citywide who accept the MAMA coupon, six in Brooklyn. The fees are $45 for a male cat and $58 for a female cat, including rabies shot and left ear tipping. The cat MUST BE IN A TRAP. Call 718-833-7988.
