The Rhapsody Players Benefit for Frankie’s Mission

On April 5, the Rhapsody Players hosted ‘Spring Night Out’ a music fundraiser for Frankie’s Mission, featuring the greatest songs of the ‘60s, ‘70s, and early ‘80s in an intimate cabaret-style setting.

Frankie’s Mission, also known as Francesco Loccisano Memorial Foundation, is an organization that is dedicated to helping children with cancer directly and raising awareness.

The fundraiser included coffee and dessert, as well as wine and beer sold for a minimal price, 50-50 chances and raffles. The event was held at St. John’s Episcopal Church Hall.

The Rhapsody Players performers are Eileen Monahan, John Heffernan, Colleen Martin-O’Donnell, Anthony Marino, Bernard Smith, Donna Heffernan and Kieran Hamilton.

“It sold out, and it was tremendous fun,” said Camille Loccisano, president and founder of Frankie’s Mission. “In one night and in only four hours, they raised $2,000, and that was the amount given to us by Rhapsody.”

Loccisano added that at each fundraiser, people from Frankie’s Mission let everyone know the organization’s history and track record, helping the cause and real families who are battling childhood cancer. “We don’t raise the funds for research, but to help children and their families direct,” she said.

“A lot of times at the event people start coming on board and doing more for us, being more involved,” Loccisano said.
