The afternoon and evening rush hour just got a little more bearable for straphangers on the G train, who are getting a 25 percent increase in service to and from Greenpoint, Williamsburg, Carroll Gardens and Kensington.
The increase is part of a package of improvements being implemented by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) in response to recommendations from last years Full Line Review.Other changes include adding signage stating G train stops here to platforms, stopping the train at the same platform section at all times, adding public announcement systems, waiting longer at first stops and opening more doors to reduce car crowding, and operating at more even intervals.G train begins 25 percent more rush hour service
