Street Talk: Has the city done an efficient job at trimming loose tree branches?

Has the city done an efficient job at trimming loose tree branches to prevent them from being a hazard?

I don’t know how the response is today, but a few years ago, it would take up to a year and a half for them to respond after people called 311. I don’t think they had the time or resources and were doing other things.

So far, the trees have looked good to me. I live by Shore Road and it seems to be very safe. I haven’t had any problems.

In Shore Road, I’ve seen some damaged caused by fallen branches. But I’ve seen progress [from the city] and they seem to always try to address the problem.

I’ve seen them come down around here [76th Street between Third Avenue and Ridge Boulevard]. It seems about two a year come down. But I think the city is doing all right.

The trees here in Bay Ridge are old. I’ve seen some old branches fall from trees near homes. I know people have had trees cut. I don’t know if the city has done a good job or not.

I haven’t experienced or heard of any trouble with branches falling where I’m currently living. I think the city is doing a good job.

With the trees, I think the city is doing a good job. But I wish they would do a better job at getting the sewers cleaned out.

Yes, they’re doing a great job. If the branches fall, they do a good job at quickly picking them up.
