What do you think of the for-profit clothing bins popping up in the area?

It’s shameful for some of these bins to be used to make a profit. Goodwill store used to collect the clothes but they don’t anymore. The churches do a good job at collecting them though.

These are scams. I saw one in the Colonial Road neighborhood. I made a phone call and was able to get it removed. I’m all for donations. There should be designated areas in Bay Ridge instead of bins, which are eyesores.

It’s a big problem and it’s wrong of them. There should be accountability on where the clothes are going.

I’ve seen a few of them around. I think it’s just really criminal for people that want to make donations.

Some of these clothes are going to thrift stores. They should get a permit and explain it and have it posted on the dumpster.

Nobody likes the idea. I don’t really know what can be done, unless they put up a sign on the dumpster and say it’s for profit.

It’s up to the people to report it. It’s on their property and they should know which ones are legal. I don’t know which is authentic. I use the one near a Walgreen’s and I trust it because of the store. I also used one in Marine area, but I don’t know if it’s going to right place.

It would take a place like a storefront or designated area that people could trust like they do with the coat drives with the FDNY.
