Our unsung hero for this week is a very active public servant. Andy Morales has dedicated his life to the service of our country and community. I congratulate him on his recent selection as post commander; for it is a well-deserved honor.
Andy is an ex-Marine who works tirelessly for veterans’ benefits. He is an active member of the Brooklyn Memorial Day Committee, where he volunteers his time and resources all year round to contribute to its success. He has coordinated the Bay Ridge American Legion Post 157 Color Guard, and is always actively involved in public parades and other patriotic functions.
Andy loves working with seniors and has been on the staff of the Bay Ridge Center for Older Adults for over 20 years. His free time is spent volunteering for many community projects. Bay Ridge is fortunate to have him.
