Our unsung hero for this week is a very active public servant. Andy Morales has dedicated his life to the service of our country and community. I congratulate him on his recent selection as post commander; for it is a well-deserved honor.
Andy is an ex-Marine who works tirelessly for veterans’ benefits. He is an active member of the Brooklyn Memorial Day Committee, where he volunteers his time and resources all year round to contribute to its success. He has coordinated the Bay Ridge American Legion Post 157 Color Guard, and is always actively involved in public parades and other patriotic functions.
Andy loves working with seniors and has been on the staff of the Bay Ridge Center for Older Adults for over 20 years. His free time is spent volunteering for many community projects. Bay Ridge is fortunate to have him.
Please join me on Saturday, September 20, in support of the 20th annual walkathon, sponsored by the Bay Ridge Center for Older Adults. This function is held annually to raise funds to support the center’s programs, including the delivery of meals to the elderly. To register for this worthy cause, or donate your contribution, please call Samantha at 718-748-0873.
You are invited to attend the St. Finbar Annual Dinner/Dance on Thursday, October 16, at The Riviera, 2780 Stillwell Avenue. Cocktails are from 6:30 p.m. with dinner and dancing to follow. Tickets are $125 per person. For further inquiries, please call 718-236-3312.
