Jets zoom past Steelers in PYO action

PYO Jets 12 vs PYO Steelers 6

The minor division confrontation between the PYO Jets and Steelers opened with an awesome charge by Jack “Sizzler” Ryan. Steeler tacklers tried one after another in vain and failed to stop him from entering golden soil to draw first blood.

There was no other scoring until the second half when Dylan “Postman” Bove took off for the 10 yard line and scored without any obstructions in his way. However, outstanding support was given by center Steven “Undertaker” Navarro, Joseph Maters and Jonny “Iron Fist” Santiago of the Steelers.

No one hit the boards in the third quarter but Julien Delacruz made a fierce classic tackle that ended the quarter and the Jet advance. But in the fourth quarter “The Sizzler” took the snap for the Jets and began a 15-yard trek bouncing off three tackles, reversed field and raced for the second Jet touchdown.

Parker Edelman tried for the point after for the Jets but Delacruz introduced him to Parkville soil with a slick textbook tackle. Other outstanding performances worth mentioning were made by the Steelers’ Joseph Negron, and the Jets’ Niko Skoda, Richard Aiosa and Charles Kitsakos. The Jets won 12 to 6.

The Major Division hit the gridiron with a grueling battle between the PYO Giants and 49ers. Jason “Wolf Man” Perlstein drew first blood with his 12-yard run to pay dirt. The Giants came back scoring when quarterback Douglas Knapp sneaked in with a keeper.

Opening the second half, Knapp scored again for the Giants, first with a touchdown then again for the extra point. The Giants went ahead 13 to 6. Hassan Farraj was caught up in traffic, but broke away to score for the 49ers, setting the score at 13 to 12.

The Giants ensured their victory when Knapp caught the kickoff and made the most magnificent run for 40 yards to pay dirt, giving the Giants the 18 to12 victory.
