New York City Schools Chancellor Carmen Fariña will be the star of a town hall at William McKinley Intermediate School, I.S. 259 on Wednesday, December 10, where she will address issues and concerns for District 20.
Community Education Council President Laurie Windsor said that while parents are urged to attend, the event is a great platform for all of District 20 to participate.
“It’s not just for parents, it’s for everyone, including teachers and principals. We’ve always had a good turnout for all constituent groups,” said Windsor. “It’s really open to everyone.”
Windsor said some of the issues addressed will include overcrowding in the district, the Common Core curriculum and the gifted and talented program.
The town hall will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. McKinley is located at 7301 Fort Hamilton Parkway.
