A 37-year-old woman was pronounced dead after jumping from the lower, westbound level of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge shortly after 6:00 a.m. this morning, according to the NYPD and MTA Bridges and Tunnels.
MTA Spokesperson Judie Glave said the woman jumped “near the Brooklyn side” and police responded shortly after and recovered the body.
The female was spotted by highway patrol at 6:12 a.m. and taken to Lutheran Medical Center where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
