Casale’s fifth annual Race for the Ring underway

On your mark, get set, race for the ring!

Staten Island’s Casale Jewelers will be hosting its fifth annual Race for the Ring event, a contest in which one couple will win a $10,000 Verragio style D-114 from the Parisian Collection set with a cushion cut diamond in the center.

Couples can enter the contest by visiting www.facebook.com/casalejewelers and submitting a photo of themselves on the Facebook Photo Contest App.

Then on Friday, February 13, the participants will be encouraged to ask friends and family to vote for their entry every 24 hours until Saturday, February 28, the end of the contest’s first round. Afterwards, half of the couples – those with the most votes — will advance to the next stage.

“An engagement is something special that couples will remember for the rest of their lives. This is something they can talk about for years to come,” said Corey Schifter, owner of Casale Jewelers. “The contest is like any relationship: you have to put in a lot of effort for it to work, but in the end you learn to work together. Plus, one lucky couple will start their lives together with a Verragio $10,000 ring.”

To be eligible to participate, couples may not be already married or engaged. They must be over 21 years old, dating and live in the tri-state area or New Jersey.

As part of the contest, Schifter is also hosting Comedy Night on Wednesday, April 8 at Lorenzo’s at the Hilton Garden Inn Staten Island. The event will help give back to the local community by raising money for local charities.

“In the last four years, we have raised over $50,000 for local charities here on Staten Island,” Schifter said. “It’s a great way to not only help one lucky couple take their relationship to the next level, but also to help a local charity here on Staten Island.”
