Beep gets hands-on with fire-safety app

Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, on Thursday, March 26, hosted a hands-on demonstration of FireSonar – a new companion app for smoke detectors – as part of his ongoing effort to advance fire safety across Brooklyn and the rest of the city.

Adams’ campaign was launched in wake of a fatal Midwood fire on Saturday, March 21 that claimed the lives of seven siblings, ages five to 16.

This app, Adams explained, allows users to be remotely notified, wherever they are, if their home or a neighbor’s home may be on fire.
