Spring is just a hop away and the Easter bunny wants to play!
Senator Marty Golden hosted a hoppin’ Easter Egg Hunt in Marine Park on Saturday, March 28 and brought some pastel prizes, games and special guests with him.
“Despite the cold weather, spring was in the air as Senator Golden led the hundreds of children that turned out to the playground and counted down the start of his annual Easter Egg Hunt in Marine Park,” said John Quaglione, a spokesperson for Golden. “The Egg Hunt, the Easter Bonnet Contest, face painting and pictures with the Easter Bunny were all a big hit. The senator was as excited as the children as he greeted them when they claimed their prize.”
The Easter Bunny was present for the occasion and took pictures with the children. Representatives from The Brooklyn Public Library were also there, offering services and free books. Special baskets courtesy of the Brooklyn Nets were given out as some of the big prizes.
For those who missed the bash in Marine Park, or who might want a second try at finding the brightly colored eggs, Golden has another Easter Egg Hunt scheduled for Saturday, April 4 at Shore Road Park (Shore Road and 79th Street) from 2 to 4 p.m.
“I am sure that our children, much like our parents and grandparents, are very much looking forward to the warmer weather and getting out and enjoying our beautiful parks,” said Golden. “The Easter Egg Hunts are shaping up to be a great afternoon full of fun activities and prizes for all.”
