Department of Sanitation to resume collection service Thursday

Following one of the worst winter storms to hit New York City since the late 1800s, the New York City Department of Sanitation announced this morning that it will resume collection service on Thursday, January 28.

Starting tonight, residents should place their trash and recyclables out at curbside according to their normal schedule.

Due to the backlog in material and ongoing snow operations, there will be some delays in collection, though residents should still ensure that their trash may be easily accessed and seen by unblocking any surrounding snow.
