From the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA):
Service to certain MTA lines will operate with changes this weekend, says the MTA. According to the agency, the changes are part of capital construction work on the New York City Transit subway system – part of NYC Transit’s ongoing Capital Rebuilding Program aimed at upgrading and maintaining subway tracks, stations and signal systems.
Changes to the R line include:
- From 6:30 a.m. to 12 Midnight Saturday, February 20 and Sunday, February 21 R service will be extended to Jamaica-179 Street.
- From 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., Saturday, February 20 to Sunday, February 21, Jamaica-179 St bound R trains will run express from Roosevelt Avenue to 71 Avenue.
- From 6:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, February 20 to Sunday, February 21, Bay Ridge-bound R trains will run express from Atlantic Av-Barclays Center to 59 Street.
- From 11:45 p.m. Friday, February 19 to 6:30 a.m. Sunday, February 21, and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday, February 21 to 5:00 a.m. Monday, February 22, Bay Ridge-bound R trains will skip 45 Street and 53 Street.
