On Saturday May 28, Citi Field hosted the 1986 World Series Championship Mets’ 30th reunion before the Los Angeles Dodgers game in a pre-game ceremony that honored the hard-playing and fun-loving team that last brought a championship to the franchise.
Five players from that famed 1986 team went on to join the coaching staff of the Brooklyn Cyclones – Bobby Ojeda (2001-2), Howard Johnson (2001-2), Tim Teufel (2003), Mookie Wilson (2005) and Wally Backman (2010).
