BP Adams calls for upgrades to city’s gifted and talented programs

Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams unveiled a report calling for improvements to New York City’s gifted and talented programs, as well as specialized high schools.

The 22-page report, entitled “Fixing the Pipeline: Solutions to Disparities in Gifted Education in New York City,” was released as part of a collaboration between Adams and Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.

Recommendations include requiring all communities to have equal access to gifted and talented programs for kindergarteners and the Department of Education providing free busing across the city for all elementary school students.
