Assemblymember Nicole Malliotakis spread some Christmas cheer across Bay Ridge on Thursday, December 21, delivering toys to the children of the military men and women at Fort Hamilton Army Base, as well as to the youngsters of the Guild For Exceptional Children.
Malliotakis teamed up with the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church (8401 Ridge Boulevard), Dimitrios & Georgia Kaloidis Parochial School (8502 Ridge Boulevard) and Salam Arabic Lutheran Church (414 80th Street) to collect the toys and donate them to several local organizations in Brooklyn and Staten Island, including the Guild and Fort Hamilton. Malliotakis’ 64th Assembly District covers parts of Bay Ridge and the eastern shore of Staten Island.
“Delivering these toys was an amazing way to help children and give back to the military men and women who serve our country,” said Malliotakis.
“The looks on the children’s faces when they received gifts was a rewarding experience that captivated what the holiday season is all about. Each year, this event becomes more of a success due to the outstanding generosity and compassion shown by our community. During this holiday season we should all take time to help and care for one another in any way we can,” she continued.
