With tributes to baseball great Jackie Robinson pouring in on the 71st anniversary of his breaking the color barrier in Major League Baseball, it seemed a perfect time to revisit a Brooklyn Dodgers icon, its beloved Sym-Phony Band. Made up of fans of the team, the band has reunited from time to time over the years to stir the memories of borough residents of a certain age. Robinson’s number 42 was retired throughout baseball in 1997.
