Tree blocks Eighth Avenue train tracks

A tree fell on the southbound N tracks at the Eighth Avenue station during Monday’s storm, MTA officials said.

One train was stalled while crews cut up and removed the tree. Other trains ran on the D line from 36th Street to Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue.

“Transit workers stepped up and responded quickly this afternoon, ensuring the safe restoration of N train service before the evening rush,” said NYC Transit President Richard Davey.
